I WAS WRITING ABOUT FAITH last week and didn't realize how much faith I was actually lacking until a friend very close to my heart put me in check in the most spiritual and godly way. My faith is being tested right now in so many different ways and I was appyling faith in the areas that actually made sense. But in other areas, I questioned and doubted God and I began to react based on emotions and fear. "If you're going to trust Him, trust Him." Is part of the text I received.
As you're in transition, how much do you really trust Him? Please know the work you're putting in now is not in vein. Keep working hard. Keep praying. Keep seeking God's direction. Respect your coworkers, classmates and those in authority. Know that your character is being tested every day. Will you pass and be promoted? Will you fail and have to retake the test? Or will you cheat and take on success without being properly equipped? Experience will get you where you want to be, but character is what will keep you there. In the Bible, it was Joseph's character that promoted him from being in prison to serving the king, to being king. Throughout Joseph's life, the Bible repeatedly states that God was with him. We are to work as if we are working for the Lord, not for man. If we do this and continue to be faithful, God will reward us with the desires of our hearts that are according to His will and purpose. (And trust me, you do not want to stray from His will!)
So as we check our character and faithfulness with where we are right now in our lives, I also want to encourage you (as I encourage myself), to keep pushing. Keep pushing toward your Source and you will find peace in the midst of any storm. And when you find that peace, you will realize that He is ordering your steps and in due season you will reap a harvest if you don't give up. Be faithful in the humbling beginnings and you will be trusted to receive more.
So how do you get this supernatural faith to keep pushing and trusing in spite of what you see or lack thereof? After the enlightening text message, I've been praying and asking God to increase my faith in Him and to teach me to trust His voice without doubt or fear. Since then, He led me to visit a church besides my home church yesterday where the pastor just so happened to be giving a dynamic message on faith and God pointed me to a scripture this morning that tells you exactly how to get that desired faith. Let go of baggage, negative people or anything that will trip you up during the journey. In other words, watch the company you keep and be forgiving. And keep your eyes on Jesus, "the champion who initiates and perfects our faith." So seek God first! Push through. Listen for His voice and trust Him in and with every aspect of your life! With that being said, have an amazingly productive week full of endurance, gratitude, faithfulness and love!
