SHE DOESN'T REALIZE IT WAS I WHO gave her everything she has—the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold. But she gave all my gifts to Baal. I will punish her for all those times when she burned incense to her images of Baal, when she put on her earrings and jewels and went out to look for her lovers but forgot all about me," says the Lord. “But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the Lord. These verses were taken from Chapter 2 in the Book of Hosea found in the Bible. God told Hosea to marry a prostitute who ended up cheating on him so that He (God) could illustrate how spiritually unfaithful Israel had been to Him. Despite her betrayal, Hosea allowed his wife to stay in his home and continued to love her. In the same way, does God continue to love us no matter how undeserving we are of His love. How many times are we spiritually unfaithful to our God-- putting our trust in a human being to fill our needs sexually (for the singles), mentally and financially? How many times do we dress to impress with the hope of pursuing or being pursued by a person who we long to fill a void that only our Heaven Father can fulfill? How many times have we ran back to someone or a situation that God has delivered us from? Like a loving parent, God expresses His concern for our development by disciplining us. Sometimes it hurts to accept that correction. Particularly, when we're led to a desert--that lonely, dry place where our dehydration will cause us to be completely dependent on the Living Water, who is the Holy Trinity. Every good thing comes from God. "Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. " (James 1:17) God loves us so much. Let's recognize and not forget our Creator and reciprocate the same unfailing love. How do you show someone you love them? ~Encouraging you as I encourage myself~ Creatively Serving™, Tiffani-MiShelle
