I WAS EATING BREAKFAST BRAINSTORMING about a feature film I want to write and my mind started wandering... again. If you keep up with my posts you know my ex and I broke up a few months before our wedding date earlier this year. Since then, I've questioned what true love really is. Society says to: "Love like there's no tomorrow." It says, "It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." The Bible warns, "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." The Bible also says, "...perfect love casts out fear," "...Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" and the Bible confirms that love conquers all. So with all of these quotes and definitions of love and suggestions on how you should love, I've been a little irritated and slightly confused on what love really is. I even started questioning the validity of the scriptures. I had a revelation not too long ago that if God is love (which according to the Bible He is), then it wasn't a man that I needed to ease my heart; I needed more of God. But even still, I couldn't stop wondering what it meant to truly love someone. And if true love really conquered all, then why are there so many divorces and failed relationships? "Does love really conquer all?" Was the question that kept circling my mind while twirling my already-drenched waffle in syrup. Then suddenly, it became clear to me! "Yes! Yes, love does conquer all! Why? Because God IS love and God conquers all. So if true love (a true relationship with Christ; feeding the spirit of God within) became mankind's ultimate desire, how much would we be able to conquer?! Perhaps we could conquer the substantial amount of divorces! Perhaps we could conquer the hate in the world... Think about it... Related Scriptures: Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:7-8) "...Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself."
